A beautiful Rocking Chair, Laurel's solid wood frames, which fit together and are held together by simple pegs, add a constructivist touch. The handcrafted leather slings, forming the seat and backrest, refer to the particular culture of Ecuador's Inca past.

This modernist chair was designed by the Ecuadorian designer, Angel Pazmino and manufactured by Meubles de Estilo in the late 1960s. At that time, Ecuador was receiving an American aid project to encourage local artisans. Local designers had the opportunity to meet Danish modernists and exchange knowledge and ideas. This collaboration resulted in beautiful examples of traditional carpentry applied to modern forms, with the use of solid rosewood and high quality leather
